Bright bouquet of raspberry and cherry blossoms with added notes of cedar, white pepper and spice. Vanilla and toasty oak round out the nose with a subtle creamy nature at the close. Palate follows bouquet with more raspberry and sweet cherry flavors. An earthy palate offers soft oak and touches of cocoa powder with a lingering finish of summer blackberry and plum. This Pinot Noir’s berry fruits and soft oak make it a perfect pairing for a wild mushroom flatbreads or fig and goat cheese pizza.
The 2013 vintage is full of deep and rich character. Although yields were lower than the generous 2012 crop, the harvest shares the same balanced flavor notes. The Green Valley in the Russian River Valley had a long ripening season, which helped develop complex flavors within the fruit. Just a few days saw extremely hot temperatures and the season was marked by less rain than usual, allowing our winemaking team to select maturely flavored grapes for the 2013 vintage.
